About Me

I'm based in South East Kent in the UK, 21 miles from the coast of France and many more miles from anywhere else.

Pickin' - I play mainly banjo plus a bit of guitar and mandolin in a few country/folkie groups, at the moment mainly Deep Water and The Mighty Cowpats, and the whole body musical experience known as Fowl Play. We do pubs, clubs, private parties, weddings and festivals - including Broadstairs and Deal Folk festivals, the Herne Bay festival, Kent Country Music festival and Ashford Rugby Club Beer festival (the best yet!). You can find out more about them on the Links page - although you won't find out too much about The Mighty Cowpats as their website got taken down for not paying the bill!.

Clickin' - I've been taking photos professionally and as an interest for over 30 years, and taught photography evening classes for a few years. My professional work involves photographing anything from a molecule to a mugshot, from a PR photo to a time lapse movie of a single cell growing and dividing. I work in whatever media is appropriate - from traditional monochrome prints to state-of-the-art digital imaging, and I'm particularly intested in links between science and art (recently I have collaborated with artist Tanya Jones for exhibitions at the University of Kent and in association with Perry Wood Arts). I'm redeveloping (awful pun!) interests in landscapes, portraits and graphic images, and always looking for commissions or collaborations, particularly those that combine my music and photo interests.
